Equipment and System requirements

Zoom supports client program for usage on the computer, smartphone and tablet. Besides from the client unit, it is also required to be connected to WiFi, webcam, speakerphones and microphone(built-in or via headset).

Recommended equipment

To use Zooms functions and to optimize the soundquality, it is recommended to have a stable WiFi connection(3.0 Mbps), connection to Zoom via a computer, that the sound is connected via an headset and an integrated or externally connected Webcam.

WiFi connection

Zoom automatically adapts to the WiFi connection that is available and can connect to 3G, WiFi or a landline. 


Recommended bandwidth for Zoom-meetings and webinar is listed below: 

For 1:1 videomeetings:

  • 600kbps (up/down) for high quality on video
  • 1.2 Mbps (up/down) for 720p HD video
  • To receive 1080p HD video, 1.8 Mbps (up/down) is required
  • To send 1080p HD video, 1.8 Mbps (up/down) is required 

For meetings with more participants:

  • 800kbps/1.0Mbps (up/down) for high quality on video
  • For gallery view and 720p HD video: 1.5Mbps/1.5Mbps (up/down)
  • To send 1080p HD video, 2.5Mbps (up/down) is required 
  • To send 1080p HD video, 3.0 Mbps (up/down) is required


Support for tablets and smartphones

Zoom also supports to participate in a meeting via tablets or smartphone
